This substantial sterling silver cuff is a new, signed creation by Navajo silversmith Chimney Butte, a celebrated artist known for his bold, sculptural work and mastery of traditional techniques.

At the center is a vibrant Sonoran turquoise cabochon, displaying a rich blue hue accented with a striking matrix of soft white and warm brown. Mined in Sonora, Mexico, this variety is prized for its vivid color and distinctive matrix patterns, each stone being completely unique.

This cuff was created using the traditional Navajo sand cast method, where molten silver is poured into a hand-carved mold made from compacted sand. Once cast, the mold is destroyed, making every cuff one-of-a-kind. The sand casting gives the silver a subtly grainy texture and a substantial, heirloom-quality weight.

The quintessential Chimney Butte design features bold, openwork silver framing that enhances the stone’s natural beauty, blending traditional Navajo craftsmanship with a striking, contemporary style.
