This striking squash blossom necklace by Chimney Butte was purchased directly from the artist at his studio in New Mexico, ensuring authenticity and provenance. It features the bold beauty of bumblebee jasper, a rare stone admired for its vivid golden-yellow, orange, and charcoal patterns. The yellow hues are caused by natural sulfur deposits within the stone, creating a dramatic contrast against the dark matrix.
Measuring 28.5” in length, the necklace showcases ten north-south set oval stones (five on each side) ranging from 2” to 2.5” in drop length, and a large oval stone at the center of the sand-cast naja pendant which measure 2" in width. The naja measures 4” in drop (not included in necklace length) and is crafted using the traditional Navajo sand-casting technique—molten silver is poured into sand mould, producing a unique texture and form.
The necklace is strung with oxidized Navajo pearls in alternating 16mm and 11mm beads, completed with a hook and claw closure. The oxidized patina enhances the timeless Southwestern look while emphasizing the vibrant jasper.
